Data protection officers in federal and state governments want the operators of Internet sites to renounce the use of Google Analytics.
Penalties could go up to €50,000 (about $75,000) which is far more expansive than most paid web analytics tools licences.
Reason for that: “Internet surfers have no way to opt-out from Google Analytics’ monitoring”. But neither they have so far with other web analytics tools!
What about rejecting cookies?
Isn’t it a war against Google more than Google Analytics itself?
